ACCOMMODATIONS
A Diamond/Sea-Glaze door opens to the salon. The sitting area is aft,
the galley forward to port and the main-deck head, hanging locker and desk are
opposite the galley. Headroom is 6'6" in the salon and 6'4" throughout the
rest of the boat. Moving forward, a couple of steps lead to the pilothouse.
The helm is just left of center, while a stairway to the master stateroom is
to the right. There are hinged Dutch-type doors on each side of the
pilothouse. A settee provides a comfortable sight-seeing perch for guests.
Navigation equipment is centered at the helm. The Pacific Trawler 40-S has an
unusual, open style pilothouse, the result of a re-design by Lynn Senour, a
Seattle Naval Architect. The helmsman can see into galley and salon, and has a
good view of the stern-- a God send when doing backing maneuvers. A hatch in
the pilothouse provides superb access to the engine room. There is no
generator on Caroline II, which leaves abundant storage for gear and supplies.
Pilothouse doors lead to the side and foredecks. The starboard side deck goes
up four steps to the boat deck and flybridge. The upper deck is bordered with
a stainless steel railing. And it is is expansive and perfect for whale
watching or kayak storage. Down three steps and forward from the pilothouse is
the master stateroom. A large vee-berth featuring large-hinged Handcraft
mattress, oversize cedar-lined hanging locker, (all cabinets throughout are
cedar lined!) and ensuite head complete this very efficient and relaxing
space. The entire boat is decorated throughout with rich, warm earth colors.
Paprika, browns and grays provide a very homey feel throughout. Rugged, high
qaulity fabrics used throughout salon, pilothouse, and forward stateroom.
Custom Hunter Dougles Duet shades and custom window treatments throughout.
